About

Thank you for placing your trust in me by electing me as your city councillor. My goal over the next few years will be to work for and with you to protect and improve what makes our neighbourhood a great place to live during this period of significant change.

You can contact me through this website, by telephone (514-756-0244) or by email (andrewpointeclaire@gmail.com).

My background:

A lifelong resident of District 4, I am a notary who works as a senior analyst at Transport Canada after having previously practised real estate, commercial and estate law. I hold degrees in common and civil law (B.C.L./LL.B.) as well as a B.A. and M.A. in history from McGill University and a D.D.N. in law from the University of Montreal. I went to Félix-Leclerc School in our district.

I served as president of the Société pour la sauvegarde du patrimoine de Pointe-Claire (S.S.P.P.C.), which participates in educational projects on history and efforts to protect heritage buildings, notably by successfully negotiating our 50-year lease to restore the historic Pointe-Claire windmill. I am a member of the board of directors of the Canadian Transverse Myelitis Association. I have also served as vice-president and co-founder of the Friends of the Pointe-Claire Library, as well as a volunteer with the Knights of Columbus, Citizens of Pointe-Claire for De-merger, and numerous other causes and charitable associations. I supported and helped collect signatures for the Save Fairview Forest group.
