Remembrance Day

Last Tuesday was Remembrance Day. I was able to attend the annual ceremony at the Field of Honour with Mayor Belvedere and Councillor Demers from District 1. We remember the sacrifices of all our veterans and those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our rights and freedoms. I have a special memory of my late grandfather, Aloyzy Swidzinski, an artillery veteran of the First Corps of the First Polish Army, who served on the Eastern Front from 1943 to 1945.
