Updates on Duke of Kent Water Main break

Updated: Feb 19

*** Councillor update: I had the chance to visit some Duke of Kent residents going door to door this evening, February 18th. Water was cutoff briefly again this morning and after being signalled, additional drinking water was delivered to each affected home in the afternoon. Thanks to our city employees at Public Works for their continued work on this. The Duke of Kent-Westbank-Beechnut semicircle has been particularly unlucky this year with multiple breaks over the past ten days. The culprit is aging infrastructure (connexions between pipes particularly) in need of repair and replacement. Given that the road quality in this area is also particularly bad, with large potholes, cracks and depressions, my hope would be to see this Winter's experience move it up on our City's list of priority streets to be redone.
